Veronica Cretu - President, “CMB” Training Center, Moldova – Veronica has been recently elected as a member of the National Council for Participation, established at the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, as a consultative body (Governmental decision nr. 11, from 19.01.2010) Veronica has joined the World Bank team in February 2012, on the implementation of Open Government initiatives, particularly focusing on mobilization and involvement of civil society and other key stakeholders in the consultations on OGP Action Plan, as well as on creating an Open Government/Open Data Community of Practice in Moldova. Veronica brings in more than 15 years of work experience both in private and in the not-for-profit sector. Mrs. Cretu has acted as an international expert/consultant with the Critical Thinking Program of the Open Society Institute, New York, USA. Veronica worked in countries such as Nepal during 2008-2010, 2007-2008 - Liberia (West Africa) and conducted capacity building for national Critical Thinking trainers in Turkey during 2009. During 2007-2008, Veronica Cretu acted as At Large Advisory Committee Member for South-Eastern Europe within the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbering (ICANN) from USA. In 2010, Mrs. Cretu acted as a member of Board Candidate Evaluation Committee with ALAC, ICANN (USA). Veronica has been actively involved in the Internet Governance Forum, she acted as Ambassador to second IGF in Rio, back in 2007 on behalf of Internet Society (ISOC). Veronica was the main organizer of the EuroDIG 2010 and 2011 in Moldova, thus ensuring the remote participation of Moldova in Pan-European dialogue on Internet governance. Veronica acted as an online tutor/coordinator for Internet Governance Capacity Building Program implemented by DiploFoundation, Malta during 2005-2007. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and IT, with Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies of Malta. Veronica’s main areas of expertise include: Internet Governance, ICT4Development, Communities of Practice, Critical Thinking Methodology, Online Training, Capacity Building to Governmental, Private and Civil society organizations, Project Management and Fundraising.
